The Dental Assisting program has been recognized by the Canadian Forces (CF) and now qualifies for a CF Paid Education program. Students who graduate from the Dental Assisting program receive advanced standing as a Dental Technician in the Canadian Forces (subject to successful enrolment in the CF). This results in a higher rate of pay relative to CF members who have not graduated from a CF-recognized program. In return for having your college education paid for, you will have to serve for a certain number of years in the CF. The amount of time is calculated on the basis of two months' service for each month of paid education. For example, if you receive paid college education over the course of four semesters, you will have to serve in the military for at least 32 months upon completing the program (each semester is four months long).
